I've just updated the ftp site (which should cover all live mirrors within
24 hours) and have asked the www site owner to do the same for that copy of
the pages (which will take care of the direct search-engine hits).

Yes, for whatever reason, he's abandoned the project and is completely
unresponsive.  Aside from death or serious illness--neither of which
has happened, apparently, given his vacation auto-responder at his work
address--this is irresponsible and inexcusable behavior.  I've lost a
lot of respect for him. :-(

Mark, did you ever get through to him via telephone?  (Reply privately
if you wish.)
