Hello,

Last week, I tested the zip files found on my hard drive (see previous message) as suggested by Gilles Vollant.

I wrote another software to check all the files of a selected directory.
This program (for Windows) is named CheckZlib and can be found at this URL :
http://xavier.lebris.free.fr/checkzlib/index.htm

My results for all the directories of two PC (compression and decompression) with 160 000 files for a volume of 29 gigabytes :
no wrong decompression with zlib 1.2.1 (zlib1.dll and zlibwapi.dll were tested)

Conclusions :
1/ To answer the question asked by Gilles, the probability of wrong decompression with version 1.2.1 seems to be very low.
2/ Even with this large amount of tested files, the problem is not detected.
3/ To do harder tests, the zlib-devel community have to test the future dll on several computers : a dozen or more ? But without any assurance.

When can we expect a new version ?

Regards

Xavier
