I have successfully run make test on both Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Mac OS X 
10.8.3.

I have also built and tested zlib with libpng 1.6.0 in a real life project 
on both Windows (both with and without the patches I posted earlier) and Mac 
OS X, and everything seems to be fine.
