How it compare with deflate compressor of 7zip ?

This story appeared yesterday:

	Google publishes Zopfli as open-source compression algorithm to
speed up Web download
	Compression is about 100 times slower than conventional methods but
compresses about 5% better, Google said

It looks like they are hammering the CPU by 100x to get 5% to 8% better
compression, which is unlikely to be a problem for Google with its huge CPU
count.  The article claims:
