[Zlib-devel] zlib-1.2.6: build error on OS X 10.6.8?

I received the following OptiPNG build error report:

Here are the relevant parts:

zlib's configure (not shown in that log) was run as
./configure --static

I suppose it's zlib's build that needs fixing, and it's not a problem
with OptiPNG?
