Indeed, but I initially made a fatal assumption: I assumed I was right.

What I also found though was how useful the zlib1.pdb (debug information) file is, because with that I was able to see (after hitting F11/F10 a few times) that the failure was in the write() call, not zlib itself.  I definitely think those files should be added to the official release.
