Yeah, sorry for that. That was a premature judgement. I had a
look at the Makefile.in and it seemed to be okay. As is turns
out, I haven't read it carefully enough.

Anyway, although the "make install" sort of succeeds, I think
the Makefile.in should be fixed to avoid these strange error
messages.
