[Zlib-devel] problems with elinks and wireshark using zlib >= 1.2.3.5

Hello,

I wasn't able to track this error down yet, but I thought I let you know about
it as it might be a bug within zlib itself.

When browsing with elinks (I checked 0.11.7) on a gzip compressed web site
(e.g. www.archlinux.org) you will just see an empty page as if no data were
transferred. Sadly it does not crash which would make tracking it down easier.
:-)

On the other hand we have an issue with wireshark (tested 1.2.6) which shows
some similar behaviour. If you want to capture a gzip encoded stream you get
the following error: "An error occurred while reading from the file
"/tmp/wiresharkXXXXXX":Less data was read than expected"

The elinks implementation is probably easier to read:
http://repo.or.cz/w/elinks.git/blob/7b6a76da4b697174c2ede1abf8f93f031cdf44db:/src/encoding/gzip.c

Greetings,

Pierre
