Totally wrong approach. pkg-config directly supports SYSROOT for
a long time (I did the initial patch for this years ago ;-p).

       Right, thanks.  That's what we've concluded
       in png-mng-implement list as well, and I've removed
       the change from libpng-1.5.0alpha01 (it never
       went in the public versions).
