Mark,

That works.  But if zconf.h is being re-added to the outgoing tarball, I
guess I would prefer the CMake error message for out-of-source builds to be
a bit more explicit about simply removing this file from the source tree
entirely.  A patch is attached.

I trust you already changed the reference from "zconf.h.in" to
"zconf.h.cmakein" in the CMakeLists.txt?

Thanks.  That's what I've done.  And I've restored zconf.h to the
distribution.  "make distclean" now makes sure that all three are in sync,
using zconf.h.cmakein as the master.
