I completely agree with all of your objections and all suggestions but
one. I think the NO_STDIO approach is the way to go; cloning a system
header file, especially stdio.h, is never a good idea. (Of course, you
could make wince_stdio.h and ifdef its inclusion in place of stdio.h;
using the same name is the real problem.)

Agreed on both counts. Hopefully the GNU folks (and everyone else ;-) )
